“Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” was broadcast on Investigation Discovery on both March 17 and 18. The series featured several former child stars who came forward with allegations of abuse and revealed the existence of a toxic work environment on certain shows produced by Dan Schneider. Schneider, known for creating some of the network’s biggest hits such as “All That,” “The Amanda Show,” “Drake and Josh,” and “iCarly,” was at the center of these revelations.
“Reflecting on recent evenings has been an immensely enlightening experience,” Schneider acknowledged regarding the four-part Investigation Discovery series. “Confronting my past actions, some of which I deeply regret has been humbling. It is undeniable that heartfelt apologies are owed to certain individuals.”
Schneider commenced his journey with Nickelodeon in 1993 as a writer for the sketch-based children’s program All That, subsequently crafting beloved comedic classics such as The Amanda Show featuring Amanda Bynes, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, iCarly, Victorious, and others. In Quiet on Set: The Dark Sides of TV, former child actors and Nickelodeon staff members candidly share the unsettling experiences they encountered while navigating programs associated with Schneider.
